The Candidates' Pledge to abide by the certified vote is a critical measure in safeguarding the integrity of our democratic process. By publicly committing to accepting the results of a free and fair election, candidates are demonstrating their unwavering support for our democratic institutions and the collective voice of the people. Such a pledge does not preclude candidates from lawfully seeking relief in the courts for any perceived issue with the electoral process. However, once all legal avenues are exhausted and the vote certified, candidates must abide by them. Our elections are the world's gold standard, and although not perfect, enough safeguards and legal means are available to resolve legitimate issues for which there is supporting evidence.
Demand that your elected officials and candidates pledge to do this and do not support or vote for any that will not make this simple pledge. It is the least they can do to show their commitment to our democracy.
